JAMMU, Aug 22: A Standard Writing Competition on Indian Standard: Milk Powder Specification was organised by Bureau of Indian Standards Jammu in collaboration with BIS Club of Padma Shri Padma Sachdev Govt College for Women Gandhinagar Jammu.
Rhythm Bassan, Quality Control Microbiologist and an expert Resource Person from BIS Jammu, apprised students about working of Bureau of Indian Standards, various initiatives taken in recent times by BIS, awareness cum demonstration of BIS care App, ISI mark to check quality of products; HUID mark to check Gold purity etc. This was followed by Essay writing competition on the topic "Mik powder Specification".
Dr. SP Sarswat, the Principal of the College applauded the students and Mentor BIS, Dr. Rajni Khajuria, Suman Bala, dept of English for their active participation and Coordination. He also motivated the students to be aware and disseminate the same among masses as well.
It was followed by Prize Distribution wherein Nikita Sharma, Bhoomi Sharma, Naeya Gupta, Shania Sharma got Ist, 2nd, 3rd and consolation prizes respectively.
The event concluded with formal vote of thanks by Dr. Rajni Khajuria, Mentor BIS Club of the College. |
