| NIF organizes interaction of Intelligentsia with MP Sharma | | |

Jammu, Mar 22: The nationalistic intellectual forum (NIF) committed, to raise the standard of public debate on important political and social issues and to strengthen the democratic institution of the intelligentsia with the sitting member of parliament Madan Lal Sharma here today.
The President of Forum, Advocate Gagan Basotra while introducing the subject highlighted the importance of interactions between the people and their representatives and the need for strengthening such forums that contribute to the healthy growth of democracy and national building. He appealed to the people to eschew politics of hate and divisiveness. Sharma chief guest lauded the efforts of the Forum in the direction of nation building and strengthening democratic values. He emphasized that the Indian National Congress had a long history of following a modern and inclusive nation building model and strengthening secular and democratic ethos. He said Congress never believes in the politics of Caste, Creed, Colour, Sex, Region and Religion. The slogan of the party has always been development and the upliftment of the common man. This has been done in letter and spirit and irrespective of whether our party has been in or out of power, he said. He further emphasized that every organ of the state, every individual and every institution has to move forward on the foundations of positive thinking and an ongoing reinforcement that to every problem there is a solution. He complemented the persons present and stated that intellectuals, thinkers and scholars are the people with analytical abilities who have always made the difference and would continue to be the torch bearers for the society.
Minister for Health Sham Lal Sharma appealed to the intellectuals to appreciate the commendable work of the Congress candidate for Lok Sabha highlighting the achievements of Madan Lal Sharma, as a Cabinet Minister and as the Member of Parliament appealed to the people of the Jammu Poonch Constituency to come out in large numbers to vote for him.
MLA Raman Bhalla also appealed to the intelligentsia for their proactive participation in guiding the development processes and positive criticism which is essential for strengthening democratic values and institutions.
