GDC Khour celebrates National Space Day

KHOUR, Aug 23: As a part of the celebration of Chandrayaan-3 mission which marks the achievement of Indian Space Research Organization in successful safe and soft-landing of Vikram Lander at "Shiv Shakti" point (Statio Shiv Shakti) on the lunar surface on August 23, 2023, Govt. Degree College Khour celebrated the first National Space Day 2024 under the able guidance of the Principal Prof. (Dr) T.K. Sharma. It is pertinent to mention that the Prime Minister of our Nation had announced that 23 August every year would be celebrated as National Space Day. The event started with the welcome address by Dr. Chetan Sharma, HoD Physics. Students of B.Sc. Sem. 5th namely Swabhi Bhardwaj, Palbi Sudan, Ritu Radha, Shagun Kumari, Bindu Sharma, Mohit and Vansh Sharma actively participated in drawing posters related to the soft landing of Vikram Lander whereas four students namely Shivani Devi, Swabhi Bhardwaj, Mohit Bhardwaj and Kirtan Singh presented their views about the achievements of Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) and future perspective of research in space exploration. About fifty students were present during this event. Dr. Tasleem (HoD Zoology), Dr. Chetan Sharma (HoD Physics), Prof. Himanshu Kajuria (HoD Chemistry), Dr. Anil Kumar Dogra (HoD Botany) were also present during this event. In his brief address, Principal Prof. (Dr.) T K Sharma appreciated the art and knowledge of students and encourages them to adopt scientific temperament and curiosity in the field of Space Science.
