Series of events conducted to celebrate "National Space Day" at GDC RS Pura

RS PURA, Aug 23: Science Club in collaboration with Carrier Counseling/Guidance and Placement Cell of Govt. Degree College R.S.Pura organized Poster making competition and Documentary Show in connection with the series of events related to "National Space Day". The proposed theme for the National Space Day - 2024 was "Touching Lives while Touching the Moon: India's Space Saga". The aim of the events was to spread awareness regarding space made by Bharat as its "CHANDRAYAAN-3" became the first to land on the South Pole region of the moon on 23rd August, 2023. Beyond its immediate scientific impact, this holds the promise of inspiring young minds to join the realms of space exploration and science To commemorate this day, Poster making competition and a seminar was organized in which students enlightened the various aspects of scientific approach of brilliant scientist behind Chandrayaan Mission to moon. A documentary show was also shown regarding launching of Chandrayaan-3 and the findings by the Vikram Lander depicting India's remarkable achievement in advancing space science and technology. In all the above mentioned events, deserving students were acknowledged and certificates of appreciation were distributed among them.
The Principal of the college Prof. (Dr.) Preetpal Kour appreciated the efforts of the faculty members and students in organizing the events and encouraged for more such events in near future. The entire events were coordinated by Dr. Neeru Sawhney, Prof. Anju Kumari, Prof. Shelly Kalsi, Prof. Meeshu Pandita, Dr. Hari Singh, Prof. Geetika Goswami and Prof. Vijeeta Anand under the convenership of Dr. Rajinder Kumar Sharma. The event concluded with formal vote of thanks by Prof. Vijeeta Anand.
