Cruel jaws of death yet silences another voice of KP community
People from all walks of life pay tearful homage to visionary leader Shadi Lal Pandita

JAMMU, Aug 23: There is an old saying that death keeps no calendar, which means that who so ever takes birth upon this earth, has to die one day so death is eminent and the real form of life.
The Kashmiri Pandit community has lost many young ,old ,scholars,saints and leaders particularly after the migration of Pandit community from Kashmir valley in way back 1989-90, yet another bold voice of this hapless community was silenced today by the Cruel jaws of death in the form of Shadi Lal Pandita, President of Jagti Tenement Committee and Convener migrant Cell who met a fatal road accident near Sidhra on August 22,2024 resulting in, his on the spot death He was 64.
People from all walks of society gathered at community hall near Lane No 7 Jagti Camp today morning to take part in his funeral procession and bade a tearful adieu to their beloved leader.
Shadi Lal Pandita was a visionary socio-political leader of good repute.He was very popular among masses and owes a unique quality to serve downtrodden and poor in a continuous process. He has constructed also a temple in Jagti camp where devotees perform pooja every day in which idol of Lord Shiva is installed.A hard-core Congress man and very strong and bold voice was very famous for his hard hitting speeches at every fora.He lead several protests against Government for fulfillment of basic amenities for Kashmiri migrants.
Shadi Lal Pandita had been working for betterment of Kashmiri migrants day in and day out.He had devoted all his time towards his community to solve their issues at different foras that were pertaining to them.Recently he had maintained a high level pressure on the Administration of J&K UT for upgradation of maintenence work of flats constructed in Jagti and other parts of Jammu for Kashmiri migrants which according to a report are in dilapidated condition.He has been the only voice for resettlement of Kashmiri Pandit migrants back into the valley and he was demanding satellite colonies constructed for them by the central government
He has been a voice raiser for all issues viz supply of ration to Government ration depots and distribution of the same in time,uninterrupted power and water Supply to KP migrants camps including Jagti and enhancement of cash assistance to Kashmiri migrant families living in different camps and colonies of Jammu since the migration and he had earned a lot of influence, fame and respect in Government power corridors as a matter of fact community nevertheless got benefits out of his influencial approach time to time.
People may come and go but there were very few who leave their footprints on the hearts of people living in societies for decades to come and no doubt Late Shadi Lal Pandita was one among them who will be remembered for years together for his selfless service to KP community.May God rest his departed noble soul in eternal peace.
