| NC-Congress coalition anti-farmers: Bajwa | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, March 22: Former Rajya Sabha member and senior PDP leader Trilok Singh Bajwa flayed Congress-National Conference coalition for its failure to solve problems of the farmers. He said that ruling coalition, due to its policies, has compounded miseries of the rural people in general and farmers in particular.
Addressing series of public meetings in border areas of RS Pura and Suchetgarh along with senior leaders, Mr Bajwa lambasted the coalition for ignoring demands of the farming community. He said that during the last two months the dispensation has not taken even a single step for the welfare of the farmers.
Calling upon the people to strengthen hands of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed and Mehbooba Mufti, Mr Bajwa reminded that it was during the regime of PDP that many policies were formulated for the welfare and upliftment of the farming community. He further mentioned that border areas were given priority in the field of developmental activities.
Speaking in these series of public meetings, party general secretary Daman Bhasin said that it was result of the visionary policies of the Mufti Mohammad Sayeed that peace has been restored on the border. “When Mufti Mohammad Sayeed took over as Chief Minister of the State in 2002, situation was worst on border”, he reminded and lavished all praise on former Chief Minister for taking effective steps to restore peace all along the border from Kathua to Kargil.
Cautioning people against evil designs of some vested interests who have launched vicious campaign in PDP, he said that agenda of the PDP is to provide justice to all sections of the society. He said that it was during the regime of PDP that Jammu region got its equal share.
