Several youth join PDP
PDP has carved out a path of peace, equitable development: Mufti

Jammu, Mar 22- Reiterating his party’s commitment to equal treatment to all regions and sub-regions of the State, former Chief Minister and patron of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Mufti Mohammad Sayeed today said that it was during the regime of PDP that a path of peace and equitable development was carved out.
Addressing a function organized to welcome some youth in the party here this afternoon, Sayeed said that removing regional imbalance and creating atmosphere for initiating peace process was the remarkable achievement of PDP led coalition. “Before 2002 there were complaints of step motherly treatment and discrimination with Jammu and Ladakh regions but our regime through its policies removed that discrimination”, he said and added that it was during PDP regime that special attention was paid towards neglected and backward areas.
"Our government has initiated many steps to remove these discriminations. In every sphere of life equal treatment was given to all regions of State", he said and pointed out that Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh were treated equally as far as opening of Universities, Colleges, schools and developmental projects were concerned. "It is our achievement that we successfully removed these discriminations", he said.
"During our regime, more than one lakh recruitments were made through set norms in a transparent manner" he said and added that his regime had institutionalized recruitment process and brought transparency in all recruitments.
He said that the youth are the future of the nation and have a very important role in the politics, therefore the joining of youth gives strength and vigour to the party and he advised the new entrants to work for the people, their upliftment and come to the rescue of their people in their problems. He exhorted upon the youth of Jammu to work hard for strengthening the party and effectively highlight problems of their respective areas.
A K Sawhney, P D P leader while addressing the youth who joined the party welcomed them into the party fold.
Those who joined PDP included Shamsher Chand ex general secretary, District Youth Congress Jammu, Rajinder Singh, Major Singh, Amandeep Singh, Harbinder Singh, Amarpal Singh, , Harmeet Singh, Jasbir Singh, Pawanjit Singh, Harjinder Singh, Mohammed Javed, Surinder Kumar, Iqbal Ahmed, Gulzar Ahmed, Aiyaz Khan, Barjinder Singh, Naresh Gupta, Dalbir Singh, Jarnail Singh and Robin Singh.
