KATHUA, Aug 27: The Departments of English, Hindi, and Urdu at Govt. Degree College, Kathua, organized a lecture on journalism today. The event featured Sandeep Singh, a well-known journalist from the Information Department, Kathua, and a promoter of Intel JK Media, as the resource person. In his speech, Sandeep Singh discussed the meaning and importance of journalism in daily life. He encouraged students studying languages to consider a career in journalism, highlighting that it can bring both financial rewards and recognition. He also invited students from the Skill Journalism course to visit his media house to gain practical experience in digital media and understand its role and purpose. The event was organized under the guidance of Prof. Seema Mir, Principal of the college. Dr. Yash Paul Sharma, Head of the Urdu Department, delivered the introductory remarks and welcome address, while Prof. Shivani Kotwal, Head of the English Department, gave the vote of thanks. The lecture was attended by all students of the 5th-semester Skill Journalism course, along with faculty members Dr. Jagmohan Sharma, Prof. Esha Verma, Prof. Rakhi Malhotra, Dr. Kamaljot Kour, Prof. Supreet Kour, and Dr. Sunil Sharma. This event was part of the Skill Internship curriculum for the language departments. |
