8/27/2024 9:10:39 PM
Early Times Report
JAMMU, Aug 27: The Harbans Roshan Bhalla Educational Foundation (HREF) is conducting a scholarship selection test for new students from rural areas, running from August 27th to September 3rd, 2024. The tests are being held for students in classes 1st, 2nd, and 3rd.
Preference is given to children from economically weak families and those attending government schools, with 70% of the selections reserved for girls. The tests are conducted daily from 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM at Bee Enn General Hospital Complex, Talab Tillo Road, Jammu. Eligible children can come for the test on any of the scheduled dates.
Since 1997, HREF has been awarding scholarships, starting with 12 children and growing to 637 in 2024. The Foundation supports students from various rural areas such as Arnia, Akalpur, Chak, Rattian, and many others. Current scholarship recipients will also take the test during this period. HREF spends over 16 lakhs annually on its education support program.
This year, the Foundation has also announced additional prizes totaling Rs 1 lakh under the Ram Lal Bhalla Awards for Toppers Scheme. These awards will be given to students who score above 75%, with tests held four times a year.
The Managing Trustee has encouraged families of financially weak girl students in classes 1st to 3rd to apply for scholarships, especially those from government schools.
