| ‘BJYM Yuva Matdatta Sammelan’ | | Leela Karan takes coalition dispensations to task for their failure | | Early Times Report Jammu, Mar 22- To attract and enroll more and more youth with the Bharatiya Janata Party, BJYM, the youth wing of BJP, today organized "Yuva Matdatta Sammelans" (New voter convention) at Vijaypur and Samba. BJP leader and party candidate for Jammu-Poonch parliamentary seat Leela Karan Sharma was the chief guest on these occasions. Leela Karan, while welcoming and addressing the youth in these conventions, said that there is a great responsibility on the youth of today in all spheres. He said in today’s era of Information Technology a youth is more aware of the threats posed to the unity of the country and can play a very decisive role in giving a befitting reply to all those forces which have been working to weaken the nation and adopting appeasement policy for political gains in the country. He said the youth who have been now getting themselves registered as new voters should keep in mind the programs and ideology of the political party before casting their vote. He said the youth should not forget that nation is above all for them and should support only such party which have concern for the preservation of the country’s rich culture and values and which do not compromise on the sovereignty of the nation. Sharma took the previous PDP -Congress and the present NC-Congress coalitions to task for not doing anything to mitigate the sufferings of the youth. He said today a highly educated youth is forced to work on salary even less than what a labourer earns in a month due to no job avenues and absence of a clear cut youth policy. He said PDP, the major coalition partner in the previous government, had promised to provide at least one job in each family in the state but it all remained a lip service. Nothing concrete was done on ground as a result of which the number of unemployed youth in the state has gone up during the last six years. BJP State Gen. Secretary Shamsher Singh Manhas, State Secretary Satwant Kour, Treasurer Sat Sharma, BJYM State President Pawan Khajuria, BJYM Vice-Presidents Munish Sharma and Vijay Choudhary, Morcha Gen. Secretary Sanjay Baru, Kashmir Singh, Omkar Padha and Naresh Singh were prominent among those who also addressed these conventions.
