Early Times Report
Jammu, Mar 22- ‘Pantrebaaz’, a new play in Hindustani, was staged here today at Natrang Studio Theatre in Natrang’s weekly theatre program ‘Sunday Theatre’. Written by Balwant Gargi, the play was adapted and directed by Balwant Thakur. Based on the story of two close fiends, who want to befool each other by the best of their crooked tactics enthralled the audience. The play is a big dig on the fast decay of human values and is shown that majority is looking for shortest routs and unlawful means to achieve everything in life by propagating the slogan “Dishonesty is the best policy”. This lust for achievement is not limited to materials but it goes beyond to earn name, fame and an accomplished celebrity status through unlawful means. The play opens with a debate between two friends trying to sell their ideas to each other of becoming a multi millionaire overnight by putting to use the latest developed fraudulent means. Each tries to convenience that his idea is more realistic and result oriented when it comes to befool public. The play reveals that general public despite being well-exposed and largely aware of the fraudulent scams, rejoices getting into the trap of crooks. There is no need to innovate new tactics to befool them as the memory of public is short lived and they willingly come to the trap as they are also looking for instant means.
Rohit Verma and Vijay Kaul played the lead roles of producer and the lawyer respectively. Both were highly successful in maintaining the pace of this intense dramatic action. They were supported with full confidence and excellent histrionics by Arvind Singh and Divya Kohli. The music of the play was designed by Mohit Sharma whereas the lights were designed by Gaurav Jamwal and executed by Rahul Singh. Anita Dhar did the presentations of the show.
