Seminar on child protection held at Govt High School Muthi

JAMMU, Aug 28: The National Development Foundation, in collaboration with the school education department and UNICEF India, organised a Child Rights Seminar at Government High School, Muthi; it aimed at raising awareness among students and teachers about child rights and protection. The seminar saw enthusiastic participation from students, delivering compelling speeches on child rights and protection. Mansi, Sarthak, & Kiran stood Ist , 2nd and 3rd , respectively, while the consolation prizes, we bagged by Anita and Sandhya. All the participants were given certificated. The principal of the School, Swarn Lata - Principal, was the chief guest and called upon the students to report if they came to know about any child rights violations.
Mansi acted as stage secretary while Urmil Gupta, Kiran Kumari & Sunita Pandita judged the participants. In addition, Nisha Pandita, Addl. Programme Officer, NDF conducted a highly informative sensitization session for both students and teachers, focusing on the importance of child rights and the concept of Child Rights-Focused Schools.
The seminar concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by the National Development Foundation, Team Members - Aman Sharma and Pritee Manhas. They expressed gratitude to all participants, judges, and the school teachers for their support in making the event a success. This seminar marks a significant step towards fostering a culture of respect for child rights and empowering the next generation to be aware and proactive in protecting these rights.
