GDC Ramnagar’s NCORD Cell in Collaboration with Sports Committee Organizes Marathon on National Sports Day

Ramnagar, Aug 29: In a remarkable celebration of National Sports Day, Government Degree College (GDC) Ramnagar’s NCORD Cell, in collaboration with the Sports Committee, successfully organized a marathon event under the esteemed patronage of Prof. (Dr.) Bhavnaish Chand Anthal, Principal of GDC Ramnagar.
The event, held on August 29th, aimed to promote the spirit of sportsmanship and fitness among students and faculty. Dr. Sham Singh Kotwal (Nodal Officer of the NCORD Cell), Dr. Pankaj Sharma (Convenor of the Sports Committee) and Dr. Dinesh Kumar (Physical Director) played pivotal roles in organizing and coordinating the marathon. The marathon saw enthusiastic participation from both students and faculty members, making it a grand success. Among the distinguished attendees were Prof. Manmohan Singh, Dr. Rakesh Kumar Pandita, Dr. Kewal Kumar, Prof. Parminder Kumar, Prof. Jatinder Lal, Prof. Eisha Gohil, Prof. Puyesh Kant Sharma, Prof. Jeevan Kumar, Prof. Anice Ahmed, Prof. Sanjay Malhotra, Prof. Tanmeet Kour and Prof. Pankaj Dabgotra. Their presence added to the event’s significance and underscored the college’s commitment to fostering a culture of physical fitness and well-being.
The event not only commemorated the legacy of Major Dhyan Chand on his birth anniversary but also served as a platform to encourage students to incorporate physical activity into their daily lives. The marathon concluded with a motivational address by Prof. (Dr.) Bhavnaish Chand Anthal, who highlighted the importance of sports in developing a well-rounded personality and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. The event concluded with prize distribution. Priya Sharma and Jagir Singh declared as Fitness and Mr. Fitness respectively. The vote of thanks was given by Dr. Dinesh Kumar.
The GDC Ramnagar community looks forward to organizing more such events in the future to continue promoting the values of sports and fitness.
