Cong approaches sulking BJP leaders to “utilize” their services in elections

Jammu, Aug 29: In an attempt to take advantage of brewing anger in a section of the Saffron Party after the announcement of mandates, the top leadership of the Congress party has reportedly approved some senior leaders of the BJP ahead of the Assembly elections.
Congress leadership is trying to lure some senior BJP leaders, feeling humiliated after being denied mandates at the cost of some junior leaders.
Highly placed sources in Congress said that the party has an open channel of communication with some sulking senior BJP leaders who were dropped from the list of candidates issued by the party.
“Although things have yet not materialized, the Congress leadership is ready to accommodate some senior BJP leaders if they join the Grand Old Party”, sources said, adding, “It is too early to say anything but talks are still going to lure the annoyed BJP leaders”.

Sources said that after being denied tickets by the party leadership, the annoyed BJP leaders are in touch with each other to chalk out the strategy for future course of action.
“Although senior BJP leaders have maintained a guarded silence after they were dropped from the list of candidates, these sulking leaders are waiting for the appropriate time to take revenge of the “humiliation” meted out to them by the leadership”, sources said.
Notably, the BJP this time ignored the majority of the senior leaders including former ministers and ex-legislators while distributing the party’s mandate for the Assembly elections.
While workers have been holding protests against, what they alleged, the wrong distribution of tickets all senior leaders have maintained a stoic silence.
