GDC Vijaypur organizes pledge taking event under SVEEP

VIJAYPUR, Aug 30: In continuation to the series of activities being organized under SVEEP-Voter Awareness Campaign, NSS Unit (KHIDMAT) of Government Degree College Vijaypur in collaboration with Internal Quality Assurance Committee organized a pledge taking event on the importance of voting in India today. The program was organized under the able guidance and supervision of the esteemed Principal, Prof. (Dr.) Vandana Gupta. NSS volunteers, students and faculty members took the pledge and showed their commitment towards voting and in choosing their representatives for the upcoming elections.
Pledge was administered by Prof. Ritu Bhagat (Coordinator NSS and Convenor IQAC) to the students and faculty members of the college. Principal of the college Prof. (Dr.) Vandana Verma briefed the first-time voters and college students understand the value of their vote and exercise their right to franchise in a confident, comfortable and ethical manner. She further stated that voting and taking part in the electoral process is more than a right and it's a responsibility that each citizen holds to select their leaders who are responsible enough to work for their people.
The event was carried out with full support of the senior faculty members Prof. Anita Jamwal (HOD Political Science) and Dr. Anoop Kumar Bhagat (HOD Sociology). It was coordinated by Prof. Ritu Bhagat (Coordinator NSS) and co-coordinated by Prof. Poonam Kundan (HOD Environmental Sciences), and Prof. Meetu Sharma (HOD Geography).
