| PDP starts election campaign in Ramban district | | | Early Times Report Ramban, Mar 23- Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) started election campaign for the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections. Senior party leader and newly elected MLC, Sayeed Asgar Ali along with other senior leader Thakur Balbir Singh addressed series of public meetings at Ramban and Batote to educate the people about policies and programs of the party. Speaking in these meetings, Sayeed Asgar Ali said that PDP has emerged as biggest political forces in the state in every short span. He said that it is all due to its pro-people policies, this party has received over-whelming response from the masses. Highlighting achievements of the PDP led regime in the State, the MLC reminded that situation was worst in the state when Mufti Mohammad Sayeed took over as Chief Minister of the State. Lambasting the coalition regime for its failure to solve problems of the people, he asked the government to fulfill its promise of providing unemployment allowance to the educated unemployed youth of the State. He charged the coalition regime with ditching the people of Jammu and Kashmir especially the unemployed youth and government by making false promises. Thakur Balbir Singh cautioned the people against gimmicks of ruling coalition and reminded that the National Conference had promised to provide unemployment allowance to the educated unemployed youth of the State but nothing has been done so far. Furthermore the ruling party had also promised to enhance the retirement age from 58 years to 60 but no step has been taken so far. Among others who spoke on the occasion were Abdul Ahad Wani, Imtaiz Banday, Showkat Daing, Bahar Ahmed Rounyal, Shakil Singh and Shakil Bhat.
