Free Eye Camp organized

JAMMU, Aug 31: A free eye awareness camp and sensitization lecture were successfully conducted at Purkhoo (Kote), an adopted village of MIER College of Education (Autonomous), by the World Women Awakening Organisation (WWAO) and MIER College of Education in collaboration with Sharp Sight Eye Hospital, Jammu. This initiative aimed to promote eye health and provide crucial eye care services to the local community.
The camp was led by a skilled team from Sharp Sight Eye Hospital, Jammu, including Dr. Vipul (Optometrist), Diksha (Assistant to Optometrist), Minali (Assistant Center Manager), Deepak (Assistant Manager Marketing), and Rahul (Executive Marketing). Their expertise and dedication ensured that the villagers received high-quality eye care and valuable information on maintaining good vision.
Dr. Renu Gupta, President of WWAO, welcomed the Sharp Sight team, Sarpanch, Panches, students, and villagers to the event. She emphasized the importance of such initiatives in raising awareness about eye health in rural communities. Ms. Minali from Sharp Sight Eye Hospital educated the villagers on various aspects of eye health, including preventive measures, the importance of regular eye check-ups, maintaining a healthy diet for good vision, and seeking timely medical advice for eye issues.
The event also saw the active participation of the executive members of WWAO, including National Vice President Sneh Bali, President of the Jammu Chapter Dr. Renu Gupta, Vice President Veenu Khanna, and other distinguished members. Suman Devi, In-charge of the Extension Unit at MIER College of Education, along with students, played a pivotal role in facilitating the camp.
The camp was inaugurated by Rajani Devi, the Sarpanch of the village, who was instrumental in mobilizing the villagers for the event. Her cooperation and support were key to the camp's success.
The event concluded with a Vote of Thanks delivered by Mrs. Suman Devi, acknowledging the contributions of all participants and organizers. The eye camp was a significant step towards improving the eye health of the villagers and fostering community awareness.
