Government College for Women Bhagwati Nagar launches Electoral Literacy Club Wall Magazine

JAMMU, Sept 2: In a significant move to promote electoral literacy, the Government College for Women, Bhagwati Nagar, has launched its new Electoral Literacy Club Wall Magazine. The initiative, inaugurated under the patronage of Dr. Meeru Abrol, Principal of the College, aims to enhance awareness about the electoral process and encourage informed participation among students and the local community.
Created by students, the Wall Magazine serves as an engaging platform for disseminating essential information on democratic values, the importance of voting, and the electoral process. It features a combination of articles, infographics, and creative visuals that simplify complex electoral concepts, making them accessible and appealing to readers of all ages.
Covering a wide range of topics, the magazine provides insights into the electoral system, voter registration procedures, candidate profiles, and the importance of informed voting. It also highlights key electoral milestones and offers practical tips for effective participation in elections. Beyond its educational role, the magazine allows students to showcase their talents in writing, design, and journalism.
Dr. Meeru Abrol, Principal of the College, commended the students for their initiative, stating, "It is thrilling to see our students take the lead in such a meaningful project. This initiative reflects their commitment to enhancing democratic engagement and promoting a deeper understanding of electoral processes. It is a testament to the vibrant and proactive spirit of our student community."
The event was coordinated by Dr. Mosmi Raina, Convenor of GCW Bhagwati Nagar's Electoral Literacy Club, who played a pivotal role in bringing the project to life. The launch of the Wall Magazine marks a significant step towards empowering students and the local community with the knowledge and tools necessary for active and informed participation in the democratic process.
