JKAP-8th Battalion, conducts plantation drive

JAMMU, Sept 3: The JKAP-8th Battalion, Miran Sahib, Jammu, undertook a significant environmental initiative with a plantation drive aimed at maintaining a clean and green environment in and around the battalion campus. The event was held under the overall supervision of Sh. Suram Singh-JKPS (SSP), Commandant JKAP-8th Battalion.
During the plantation drive, at least 400 plants of various kinds were planted by the officers and other jawans of the battalion. Speaking on the occasion, CO JKAP-8th Bn emphasized the importance of environmental and ecosystem preservation. He stressed the need for the conservation of natural resources to ensure that future generations inherit a healthy environment. He also highlighted the necessity of maintaining cleanliness to prevent society from various illnesses, stating, "To be without trees would, in the most literal way, be without our roots, as trees bring peace to the soul of human beings."
The unit has consistently taken initiatives to keep the campus green and clean and remains highly committed to protecting the natural environment. All participants were encouraged to extend such initiatives to their homes by planting trees to help save the environment and secure the future.
Farewell Ceremony for Transferred Officers
On the same day, the JKAP-8th Battalion bid a warm farewell to two of its officers who were transferred to other locations. The officers, Sh. Pankaj Kumar-Dy.SP and Sh. Pardeep Sharma-Dy.SP, were honored for their dedicated service and contributions to the battalion.
Suram Singh-JKPS (SSP), Commandant JKAP-8th Battalion, expressed his appreciation for the officers' hard work and commitment. He wished them the best of luck in their new assignments and acknowledged their support, cooperation, and teamwork during their tenure in the battalion. As a token of love and respect, gifts were presented to the officers in recognition of their exceptional services.
Among the attendees were Sh. Manzoor Hussain-Dy.SP, Sh. Bhupinder Singh-Dy.SP, and other distinguished officers who were present to honor their colleagues.
