Tripathi, along with Prof. Rajesh Katoch, Dean Faculty of Veterinary Sciences, officially flagged off a 10-day educational tour for 65 veterinary students today.
Coordinated by Dr. Pervaiz Dar and Dr Mohd Yaqoob Wani, the tour has been meticulously planned to ensure that students gain invaluable insights into the challenges and opportunities present in the Kashmir and Ladakh regions, particularly those impacting animal health and veterinary practices in high-altitude areas. The students will visit institutions like SKUAST-Kashmir, Sheep & Goat Research Station-Shuhama, High Altitude Agriculture Research Institute-Leh, Defence Institute of High-Altitude Research-Leh, and ICARI-Central Arid Zone Research Institute and others.
This educational tour is part of the university's ongoing commitment to providing hands-on learning experiences that complement classroom education. During the tour, participants will have the opportunity to interact with local communities, understand the region's unique veterinary practices, and observe the adaptation strategies of livestock in high-altitude environments.
Speaking at the flag-off ceremony, Prof. B.N. Tripathi emphasized the importance of such educational tours in broadening students' horizons.
