| Politically empower Jammu region’ Shanta Kumar | | ‘India turns breeding ground for Bangladeshis’ | | Early Times Report Jammu, Mar 23- Former Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister and incharge J&K Shanta Kumar on Monday appealed to the voters in Jammu to send only those leaders to the Lok Sabha who can raise their voice in the Lok Sabha and end the six decade long discrimination with the people of the Jammu region. During the recent Assembly elections the people in Jammu region voted and supported BJP candidates as they believed that only BJP candidates can fight for their rights inside the state legislature. "Similarly I urge voters in Jammu region to vote and elect those candidates who can become their voice inside the Lok Sabha", the former HP chief minister who arrived here in Jammu to supervise party campaign said while addressing a media conference. The senior BJP leader while acknowledging the role of the former Convenor of the Amaranth Yatra Sangarsh Samiti, Leela Karan Sharma, said that the senior advocate led from the front and fought the cause of the people of Jammu region during the historic agitation. "Give him another chance to represent your voice in the Lok Sabha in order to politically empower people of Jammu region", he added. Attacking Congress party BJP leader Shanta Kumar alleged that three crore Bangladeshi citizens easily infiltrated inside India and earned citizenship of this country yet the Congress do not utter a word and has been adopting appeasement policy. He said in the coming Lok Sabha polls the BJP would expose the working of the Congress party and corner it on the issue of rising corruption, inflation, growing terror related incidents and infiltration. Accusing the UPA government for its soft attitude towards the Bangladeshi, who after infiltrating to this part of the country, have been settled in India, he said that “It is very serious matter that till date three crores Bangladeshi have been given the citizenship rights, right to vote. “Besides, the terrorists’ aggression mounted by Pakistan on the other hand has brought the country into a no-win position, over which the Congress is sitting silent just for the vote bank politics”, Shanta said. BJP national vice president presented a list of failures of the UPA government on various fronts. Denying any rift in party over the candidature of former convenor SAYSS Leela Karan Sharma for Lok Sabha, he said it was a unanimous decision of the party and has no difference of opinion among the cadre even our cadre is readily supporting Leela Karan Sharma to ensure his victory in upcoming elections. He was replying to a query on the alleged revolt within the party against Leela Karan’s candidature. “There is no dearth of efficient leaders in the party, but since the people of Jammu have recognized Leela Karan Sharma as a strong force capable of managing affairs for Jammu in good way, as he has done in Amarnath land retrieval, party has decided to give him the ticket”, said Shanta Kumar while clarifying on the misconception brewing among the public on the issue. Commenting on the Election Commission’s order of not giving ticket to Varun Gandhi, the BJP leader said “the EC has acted in haste and has no powers to decide as to whom the ticket is to be given ‘ Election commission taking a hasty step in this regard has raised suspicion over its credibility,” said Shanta Kumar.
