PALOURA, Sept 5: Government Degree College (GDC) Paloura marked Teacher's Day with great fervor, paying tribute to Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan on his birth anniversary. The celebration began with a traditional Saraswati Vandana, followed by a floral tribute to Dr. Radhakrishnan by the college staff, honoring his legacy as a revered educator.
The event saw active participation from the students, who put on a cultural showcase featuring enchanting folk songs, a humorous skit, and captivating dance performances. Students also delivered heartfelt speeches, reflecting on the significance of Teacher's Day and expressing their gratitude for their teachers' guidance and support. Prof. Geetanjali Multani, Head of the English Department, highlighted the essential role teachers play in shaping young minds and society. She stressed the importance of recognizing the immense contributions of educators, using this day to honor their tireless efforts.
The event was organized by the college's Cultural Committee, led by Prof. Moni Mehra (Convener), along with Dr. Rabia Iqbal Mir, Dr. Shivani Sharma, and Prof. Kusha Sharma.
