He asserted that the people feeling alienated under the present dispensation due to lack of basic amenities across the Union Territory.
Speaking to media persons after filing nomination of NC Candidate Ch Javed Iqbal from Budhal Constituency in District Rajouri, the senior NC leader asserted that the BJP leadership should come forward and clarify what tangible efforts they have made for the people of the Pir Panjal area, questioning why there is increasing frustration and disappointment among the locals towards the BJP.
Rattan Lal emphasized that the people of whole Pir Panjal area are suffering due to the lack of essential infrastructure, healthcare, and educational facilities. He further added that despite the BJP's promises, the ground realities remain bleak, with little to no development seen in these critical sectors.
The Provincial President promised the voters of Budhal Constituency that if the National Conference is voted to power, the party will prioritize the holistic development of the constituency. He assured the people that the JKNC government will work tirelessly to provide better roads, reliable electricity, clean drinking water, and quality healthcare, ensuring no area is left behind.
"Budhal has been neglected for far too long, and we are committed to uplift the people of the area," he added.
The Provincial President emphasized that the National Conference in its poll manifesto has committed to implement the National Food Security Act, ensuring food security for all citizens, increase 5Kg to 10 Kg free rice per person per month. "Apart from this, the party's manifesto includes significant promises such as providing Rs 5,000 annually to elderly women from economically weaker sections (EWS) for household support, Provide one lakh jobs to the Youth of J&K', offering 12 LPG cylinders per family per year and provision of free 200 power units for every household", free drinking water supply, he said.
Rattan Lal Gupta urged people not to fall prey to bundles of lies spread by the BJP leadership as it has a habit of changing stances after the poll outcomes which is evident from its U-turns on many occasions in the past. He appealed to the people to vote and support Javed Choudhary in Assembly polls for equitable development of the region.
Javed Choudhary, while addressing the gathering, said that all the development works in the Pir Panjal region have either gone slow or completely halted due to fear psychosis prevailing on account of surge in terrorism in the last over two years. He promised that NC will ensure all the basic amenities to the people at their doorsteps. He said that NC government's top agenda would be upliftment of weaker sections without any prejudice or discrimination on the basis of colour, caste or creed.
