Early Times Report

SAMBA, Sept 5: An awareness drive was organized today at Govt. High School Mawa in Rajpura Constituency as part of the Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) initiative.
The event aimed to enhance voter awareness, with a special focus on facilitating Divyangjan (persons with disabilities) in the upcoming elections. The school, designated as a Special Polling Station for Divyangjan, symbolizes efforts to ensure accessible and inclusive elections for all citizens.
A Nukkad Natak (street play) was also performed, highlighting the importance of voter participation and the electoral process, engaging the students and the community in an interactive manner.
The event was organized by Nodal Officers Kewal Krishan (CEO Samba) and Ekshu Sharma (Assistant Director Handicrafts Samba), who have been actively involved in the voter awareness campaigns under SVEEP.
Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Champa Devi was the Chief Guest. In her address, the Chief Guest lauded the efforts of the Election Commission and the district administration for their consistent focus on increasing electoral participation, especially among marginalized groups such as Divyangjan. She encouraged the students and community members to spread awareness about the importance of voting and contributing to the democratic process.
