| Police Udhampur act tough against traffic violators | | |

Udhampur, Sept 5: Continuing its efforts to reduce road accidents and to ensure that people drive safely, District Police Udhampur have launched special drive against traffic violators throughout the district. In this regard,special nakas were established at different locations of Udhampur town and in rural areas of district.
During the last 03 days, District Police Udhampur issued 307 Challans out of which 44 vehicles were seized for traffic violation.
All the territorial officers were personally monitoring the drive against the traffic rules violators especially overloading in the passenger vehicles commuting from far flung areas of Udhampur like Pancheri, Ramnagar Basantgarh, Latti etc.Two wheeler riding without helmet, rash and negligent manner, triple riding etc. were specifically targeted to avoid any loss of innocent lives due to fatal road accidents.
District Police Udhampur appealed all citizens to follow traffic rules, especially parents were requested to put a check on teenagers and not to allow them drive illegally.
It also warned those found violating the traffic rules in the district will be strictly dealt under law. |
