| Kargil war hero’s cricket tournament inaugurated | | |

Jammu, Mar 23: The 10th Kargil War Hero’s Cup Tournament 2009-10 begins at pologround here today. The senior superintendent of Police, Leh S. R. Samuel inaugurated the tournament as chief guest on the occasion.
The first match of the tournament was played between United Chushot Green Club and Royal Sporting Club. The captain of the United Chushot Green Club won the toss and elected to bat first and scored 101 runs with the lost of 9 wickets in 25 over match. Royal Sporting Club achieved the target in 17th over with the lost of only one wicket and won the match by 9 wickets.
Speaking on the occasion, Samuel said that today is a great occasion to remember those heroes’s who sacrifice their life for the nation in Kargil war of 1999. He appealed all the players participating in the tournament to show sportsmanship, brotherhood and national integrity throughout the tournament and hoped that young players could get chance to show their talent.
Earlier, Councilor Chushot Abbas Abadi in his welcomed address gave detail and objectives of the tournament.
