BLSKS concludes National Nutrition Week with musical play “Poshann”

JAMMU, Sept 6: As part of "National Nutrition Week 2024" , Bhartiya Lok Sangeet Kala Sansthan in coordination with Sangam Tru Art Production & presented its 456th Friday Series Musical "POSHANN" at Rehearsal Hall, Durga Bhawan Janipur Jammu on the concluding day. The theme for this year is "Nutritious Diets for Everyone". The Musical play was written, produced and directed by Dr. M.L. Dogra, former Regional Director, Song and Drama Division, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India & the music was composed by Raju Bajgal, Music Instructor BLSKS. The Program was inaugurated by V.K. Magotra, Former Regional Director, Directorate of Field Publicity, Government of India. Dr. Tara Singh Charak, Former Deputy Director, Health Department, J&K Government, Romesh Chander, Event Director Shashvat Art Gallery, Dr. Anju Dogra, J&K health department, Mukesh Singh, Media Person Jammu were the Guest of Honor. The programe was commenced with songs " Dhuud Maa Ka Bache ko Pilayo ", " Sun sun Sehali meri sun", " Postik Khane Se Sab Bimari Baag jati Hai", "Shud Khana Sabne Khana Chahida" sung by the renowned artistes of BLSKS. The Chief guest said the Nutrition is a global healthcare event. In India, it is observed for the first week of September every year since 1982. During this day, various local and global communities gather around to advocate the importance of nutrition through various events and mediums. A strong correlation is seen between a country's economic prosperity and the level of food production, as well as the extent of elimination of nutritional gaps. Nevertheless, it was discovered that there are various developed and developing countries in which one of the dominant issues is the prevalence of undernutrition. Similarly, the Indian economy, which persists as one of the emerging markets, demonstrated the extent of malnutrition not only in the poor but also amongst all socio-economic groups. Steps are being taken to curb the nutritional gaps with serious crop diversification. Sh.Magotra also underlined the importance of staging of such plays in all parts of the state to generate the awareness of culture of our country & urged the artistes / cultural organization to contribute in enriching the cultural heritage and inspiring the younger generation to follow foot prints of their elders in preserving the composite culture of the nation. The program was also recorded & uploaded online on Social Media for benefit of the peoples.
Earlier in welcome address of Dr. M.L. Dogra, Former Regional Director ,Song and Drama Division ,Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India and chairman of Bhartiya Lok Sangeet Kala Sansthan said on the occasion, National Nutrition Week is celebrated each year from 1st September to the 7th September to aware the people about important tips of their health and well-being. The role of your diet in life plays the most important role in promotion of health and wellbeing of a human being. A good and balanced diet habit improves the quality of life, as poor diet might cause morbidity and illnesses. This year the theme is feeding smart right from start. The government has created a program to impart proper information and build awareness through Seminars and also Camps to give every Child and Citizen of India on how children can benefit from proper nutritious diet right from birth. The objective of the National Nutrition Week is to enhance the nutritional practice awareness among people of the community through the adoptable training, timely education, seminars, different competitions, road shows and many other campaigns and to make a healthy Nation.
