49 persons cross via Chakan-Da-Bagh

Srinagar: At least 49 persons including five first-timers from Jammu boarded the weekly Poonch-Rawalakote bus service Monday and crossed over to divided line on either side at Chakan-Da-Bagh crossing point in Pooch district of the winter capital.

Sources told that while 31 civilians crossed over to Pak, 18 including 16 first-timers from Pak reached Poonch after crossing the loC.

Sources said that among the 31 persons who travelled to Pak including five from Jammu region while remaining 26 were resident of (Pak) who returned to their home towns after meeting their separated relatives and friends after the partition.

Similarly, sources said 18 persons including 16 (Pak) residents and 2 returnees from Jammu entered into Poonch.

No person from Jammu travelled to Pakistan administered Kashmir prior to last week when only two persons boarded the weekly bus.

From Pooch side, the travelers from Pak were received by General Manager DIC Matlub Khan while Trade facilitation Officer Khatim Bukhari received guests and returnees from Jammu.
