Sadguru highlights spiritual challenges of Kalyug in discourse at Akhnoor

Early Times Report
AKHNOOR, Sept 8: In a profound and thought-provoking discourse, Sadguru Shri Madhuparamhans Ji Maharaj, revered leader of the Sahib Bandgi community, addressed a large congregation in Akhnoor, Jammu. Speaking on the spiritual pitfalls of Kalyug, he emphasized how the polluted minds of those engaging in sinful deeds prevent them from experiencing the divine presence, even in their dreams.
Shri Madhuparamhans Ji Maharaj reflected on how, as foretold, sinfulness has risen significantly in Kalyug, leading to a clouding of human intellect. "The mind, corrupted by sinful actions, becomes unable to discern right from wrong," he stated. In this age, those who commit to good deeds and spiritual devotion often find themselves ridiculed by society.
Drawing from the teachings of Saint Paltu Sahib, he shared how there is a natural enmity between the worldly and the devoted, similar to the relationship between a cat and a mouse. The Sadguru used the metaphor of a crow, which prides itself on its harsh voice, to illustrate how sinful individuals take pride in their wrongdoings, much like crows believe their call is unmatched, even though it is disliked by all.
In a fascinating analogy, he explained the behavior of creatures like owls and bats, which have strong infrared vision but cannot tolerate sunlight, equating them to those blinded by ignorance. He shared a story of an owl being shown the sunlight by a swan, representing a devotee's struggle to enlighten others who remain in spiritual darkness.
"The owl, like those who refuse to see the truth, cannot comprehend the existence of the sun, just as some people cannot grasp the idea of a higher spiritual realm like Satlok," he said. He stressed that, despite opposition from the ignorant, the pursuit of truth and devotion to the divine must continue.
The Sadguru concluded by reminding the congregation of the testimony of 32 saints who have helped millions cross the worldly ocean and reach the immortal land, Amar Desh. Despite increasing opposition, he urged devotees to remain steadfast on the path of truth and devotion.
