9/8/2024 10:07:13 PM
Early Times Report
JAMMU, Sept 8: Senior BJP leader and party nominee for Jammu North constituency, Sham Lal Sharma today said that "era of domination by Kashmir centric politics to decide the future of Jammu people is over, and time has come when the Jammu people will decide their own future and regain the lost dignity and honour by electing the BJP led Government in Jammu Kashmir". Sham emphasised that the present assembly elections which are being held after a gap of ten years are very crucial and special ones for Jammu people, as they will for the first time exercise the right of their franchise under the National flag and Indian Constitution. It has great significance, and people will avail this opportunity by giving thumping majority to BJP for complete peace, honour and security for the coming generations, said Sharma. Addressing large gathering of people at Ward No. 36, Lakad Mandi Janipur and Ward No. 37, Janipur Colony in Jammu North constituency here today, Sham said that due to the divisive and Kashmir centric policies of National Conference (NC), the people of Jammu region always suffered badly on account of every front. It (NC) always undermined the development of Jammu region, major chunk of government funds were diverted to Kashmir region, never paid any attention for the development of this region, major portion of employment also snatched, Jammu youth never got fair deal, no big health institution was promoted, horticulture, floriculture, tourism which are the major sectors for mainstay of economy faced total neglect, thus economic activities remained always low. Jammu people always remained at the mercy of Kashmiri leadership to get justice, but no one paid any heed to the problems of innocent people of this part of State, he asserted. Maintaining that NC and Congress are again trying to regain the power by giving hollow slogans of bringing back Article 370, 35-A and other controversial issues like dialogue with Pakistan, restarting trade with Pakistan, repealing the controversial laws to help the detained militants, which are history now and people will not fall in their trap and give befitting reply in the upcoming elections. NC and Congress have also lost their ground in Kashmir Valley as people have fed up from their mis-rule and corrupt practices for over seven decades and now they want change and these parties will vanish from the Kashmir map and a new era of peace and holistic development will prevail in Valley after the elections, Sham asserted. Highlighting Prime Minister, Narinder Modi's efforts in ending discrimination against Jammu people, Sham noted that after the abrogation of Article-370, overall security scenario has changed and economic activities picked up, developmental activities are at peak. In order to ensure continued peace, progress and economic development of Jammu Kashmir, people must support the BJP and elect the next government with full majority.
