Early Times Report

POONCH, Sep 8: The District Election Authority has significantly ramped up its preparations for the upcoming Assembly Elections, focusing on the training of Micro Observers across the district’s three constituencies: Surankote, Haveli and Mendhar.
In a key training session held today at the Government Degree College Poonch Auditorium, General Election Observer Solai Bharathi Dasan addressed the Micro Observers, underscoring their crucial role in the electoral process. Dasan emphasized that Micro Observers are the “Eyes and Ears” of the Election Commission of India, entrusted with responsibilities such as monitoring polling station readiness, ensuring Assured Minimum Facilities (AMF) are in place, supervising mock poll procedures, conducting post-poll reporting and other duties following the Election Commission’s guidelines.During the session, Dasan urged the Micro Observers to perform their duties with utmost impartiality, punctuality, and efficiency. “Your role is paramount in ensuring that elections are conducted peacefully and fairly. It is essential that you carry out your responsibilities with integrity and dedication, maintaining a keen eye on every detail to uphold the transparency of the process,” he stated.
The comprehensive training will train 650 Micro Observers to oversee 483 polling stations across the three constituencies—151 in Surankote, 190 in Poonch (Haveli), and 142 in Mendhar.
