Both parties have already labeled Apni Party and Peoples Conference as “A” and “B” teams of BJP

Early Times Report

Jammu, Sep 9: After dubbing the Apni Party and Peoples’ Conference as “A” and “B” teams of the Saffron Party, the National Conference and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) now jointly launched a campaign to label Engineer Rashid Awami Ittehad Party (AIP) as a “proxy” of the Saffron Party.
Interestingly, leaders of the NC and PDP are trying to demonize each other during the election campaign but they are unanimous in dubbing AIP as a “proxy” of the BJP due to the growing popularity of this party.
On Saturday Omar Abdullah Omar Abdullah highlighted that Home Minister Amit Shah didn’t mention certain parties during a Jammu press conference which hinted at potential future alliances. Further taking a jibe at HM Shah he pointed out that BJP could possibly form a government with parties like Engineer Rashid’s.
“During a press conference in Jammu yesterday, Home Minister Amit Shah was saying the name of parties with which they will not be forming a government. There were many parties which were not even mentioned. However, he didn't mention several parties, including Engineer Rashid's party. This means that tomorrow if the BJP wants, it can form the govern

ent with them”, Omar said.
Important to mention here that Engineer Rashid has defeated Omar Abdullah in the recently held Lok Sabha elections from Baramulla Parliamentary seat.
After Omar Abdullah’s statement today Mehbooba Mufti has labeled the Awami Ittehad Party (AIP) as a government proxy, aimed at dividing the Kashmiri vote. She questioned how the AIP, with its leader Engineer Rashid in jail, was able to field candidates across the region.
Mufti alleged that the AIP receives funding and protection from the government, allowing it to contest elections extensively.
Mufti alleged that the AIP, along with other parties and Independent candidates, excluding the PDP, NC, and Congress, are proxies of the BJP. She claimed their goal is to fragment the vote in Kashmir, particularly targeting the PDP. Mufti highlighted the PDP's history of standing up for Kashmir's people, political prisoners, and opposing the government's actions on August 5, 2019.
Mufti also mentioned an incident where alleged AIP workers assaulted the PDP's Shopian candidate, Yawar Shafi Banday, leaving him with severe injuries. She criticized the police for failing to act, revealing their partisan role.
