| GDC Sidhra organises a voting awareness rally | | |  Early Times Report
JAMMU, Sept 9: With a view to activate Electoral Literacy Club for conducting extensive SVEEP activities in lieu of the upcoming General Elections to J&K Legislative Assembly 2024. A massive rally was organised by The Electoral Literacy Club in collaboration with NSS. The rally aimed at the goal of raising awareness among young minds regarding the importance of voting. The students from the various semesters participated with full zeal and zest highlighting their right to vote which is the corner stone of democratic society, ensuring citizens to have a voice in governance. Unless one chooses the right representative through the right to vote, one cannot build the true structure of democracy. The rally aimed at motivating the people around to cast their votes and making informed choice at the polls for building a better tomorrow. Dr Meesha Bhagat Convenor Electoral Literacy Club and NSS PO Dr Purvaiya Hans coordinated the entire proceedings of the rally. Members of both the committees along with the HOD Political Science Dr Harpreet Kour were also present on the occasion. The event was a significant step towards promoting electoral literacy among the youth and empowering them with the knowledge and skills to participate effectively in the democratic process. The programme was conducted under the patron ship of Prof (Dr.) G.S. Rakwal, Principal of the college. He also encouraged the students to make people aware regarding the upcoming General Elections to J&K Legislative Assembly 2024. |
