Swimming Team Departs for 77th Senior National Aquatic Championship

JAMMU, Sept 9: The Jammu & Kashmir (J&K) Swimming Association proudly flagged off its team for the 77th Senior National Aquatic Championship today. The prestigious event, organized by the Karnataka Swimming Association under the aegis of the Swimming Federation of India, will take place from September 10 to 13, 2024, at the International Swimming Complex, Yemmekere, Mangalore.
Prof. Dr. Ashutosh Sharma, President of the J&K Olympic Association and Vice-President of the Indian Olympic Association, served as the chief guest at the flag-off ceremony. The event was also attended by Ramandeep Singh Soodan, President of the J&K Swimming Association, and General Secretary Bharat Kumar Sharma. The J&K-UT contingent comprises 10 talented swimmers, equally divided between male and female athletes. The male swimmers include Mukhtar Ahmad Bhat, Showkat Ali Bhat, Rudraksh S. Gupta, Aayan Sharma, and Pratul Singh Jamwal. Representing the female athletes are Avnee Aethmea, Aditee Aditya Bargotra, Tanisha Jaggi, Chitrangna Sharma, and Prajal Gupta. Babita Jamwal, the Joint Secretary of the association, will accompany the team as their coach and manager, providing essential guidance and support throughout the competition. The J&K Swimming team is set to compete with the nation's best swimmers, aiming to bring pride and glory to the Union Territory.
