Advocate Maheshwar Singh Manhas files nomination for 79-Jammu North Assembly seat

JAMMU, Sept 9: Advocate Maheshwar Singh Manhas, a candidate from the Democratic Progressive Azad Party (DPAP), officially filed his nomination today for the 79-Jammu North assembly constituency. The nomination was submitted before the Returning Officer, SDM North Jammu, at Janipur amidst a large gathering of his supporters.
The event began at the residence of Manhas, where his supporters assembled before proceeding on foot to the nomination venue in a grand display of solidarity and support. The filing of the nomination was marked by significant fanfare and enthusiasm.
Prominent figures from the DPAP, including R.S. Chib, General Secretary of DPAP and former J&K minister, Dr. Tariq Azad, member of the DPAP working committee, and Vishal Chopra, DPAP Media Incharge and Spokesperson, were present. The zonal vice presidents of DPAP, Er. Harjeet Singh and Ashok Khajuria, along with Pawan Kumar (Raju Mahajan), Block President of Janipur Paloura, and Devinder Khajuria, Block President of Bhalwal, also lent their support.
In his address following the nomination filing, Manhas appealed to the people of Jammu North to vote in his favor, emphasizing the developmental achievements made during Jenab Ghulam Nabi Azad's tenure as Chief Minister of J&K. He praised Azad's vision and leadership, stating that he is the only leader with a clear roadmap for the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
Manhas further underscored his deep connection to the Jammu North constituency, stating that as a "son of the soil," he understands the issues faced by the region and is committed to addressing them. He pledged to fight for the rights of the people and stressed that the DPAP's agenda revolves around development and peace in Jammu & Kashmir.
The nomination event was seen as a significant moment in the ongoing campaign for the assembly elections, with Manhas emerging as a key candidate in the Jammu North race.
