Interactive Session and Rank Ceremony held for NCC cadets at GDC Kathua

KATHUA, Sept 11: The NCC unit of 2 J&K Girls Battalion, Government Degree College (GDC) Kathua, organized an insightful interactive session and rank ceremony on 11th September 2024. The event witnessed the gracious presence of Col. Muneesh Jasrotia, Commanding Officer of 2 J&K Girls Battalion, and was a significant moment of encouragement for the cadets.
The program commenced with a warm welcome address delivered by Cadet Mansi Sharma. Principal Prof. Seema Mir, in her keynote speech, emphasized the crucial role that NCC plays in shaping the future of the cadets. She highlighted the importance of NCC in fostering discipline, responsibility, and character growth among the youth. Prof. Mir further reflected on the need for young people to stay on the right path amidst the distractions of modern life, and how being an NCC cadet can bring about a transformation not just in personality, but also in mindset.
Col. Muneesh Jasrotia, in an engaging interaction with the cadets, inspired them to recognize and harness their inherent capabilities. He underscored the significant role of cadets in society's progress and the nation's development, motivating them to be proactive contributors to the country's future.
A rank ceremony followed, during which Cadets Anshu Rani and Niketa Raina were awarded their ranks, a proud moment for the entire battalion. The cadets expressed admiration for Col. Jasrotia's insightful and encouraging words.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Prof. Raj Kumari, who acknowledged the presence of Subedar Major Daler Singh and other PI staff, whose support further added to the event's success.
The occasion was not only a milestone for the cadets but also an opportunity to reflect on their roles as future leaders and responsible citizens of the country.
