JAMMU, Sept 11: Electoral Literacy club in coordination with NSS wing of GDC Bishnah organised poster making competition on theme 'My vote My Right' as a part of Systematic voters Education and Electoral participation (SVEEP) program under the able administration of Dr. Shallu Samyal, Principal of the college. In this event ten students participated and fifty volunteers of electoral Literacy and NSS volunteers attended the function enthusiastically and gain enlightenment on this sensitive issue. Dr. Koushal Kiran Thacker , HOD, Urdu Dr.Ratika Sharma, HOD, Physics and Dr. Kusum, HOD, Punjabi acted as judges in the poster making competition.
"In this contest, Mohit Sharma of Sem 5 secured the first position, Palak Mangotra of Sem 5 took the second position, and Arshpreet Kour of Sem 3 bagged the third position. Following the routine of the Voter Awareness Programme, a rally on SVEEP (Systematic Voters' Education and Electoral Participation) was organized, in which 60 students participated. The rally was flagged off by the Principal of the college. During the rally, students raised slogans to enlighten the common masses about the importance of casting their votes." with poster making competition and Rally GDC, Bishnah inaugurated series of event on SVEEP for voters awareness. The entire activities were performed under the guidance of Prof. Shrotika Rajput, convener, electoral Literacy Club and Dr. Geeta Lakhotra, NSS. PO.
