| Natrang to celebrate World Theatre Day on Mar 27 | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Mar 24- Natrang is going to celebrate ‘World Theatre Day’ with big fanfare and enthusiasm. This was disclosed here today by Natrang director Balwant Thakur in a press briefing organized at Natrang Studio Theatre. Describing about World Theatre Day, Balwant Thakur said that this day is celebrated world over on March 27 since the year 1961. Natrang was the first theatre group of the state which started the tradition of celebrating this auspicious day in the year 1985 and is celebrating every year expressing the concern and commitment for this dying art form called theatre. The relevance of celebrating this day with big fanfare this year has also necessitated for the reason that Jammu theatre in general and Natrang in particular has acquired International status sheer by its own strength, dedication and commitment. Giving details, Natrang Director said that a weeklong program will start tomorrow which will feature plays, seminar, discussions and theatre games/exercises and short workshops. Six plays will feature in these celebrations which include ‘Aaj Ki Aurat’ ‘Pantrebaaz’ ‘Kabab Mein Haddi’ ‘Girgit’ ‘Gatt’ and ‘Suno Eh Kahani’. Lot many top experts of the country will join these program including famous film maker Amit Dutta and theatre expert Udyan Vajpai. All these programs will be organized at Natrang Studio Theatre. |
