Early Times Report JAMMU, Sept 11: As part of the Nasha Mukat Bharat Abhiyan , Bhartiya Lok Sangeet Kala Sansthan, in coordination with Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India, Social Welfare Deptt. J&K Govt. and Sangam Tru Art Production presented its 457th Regular Series Dogri Musical Play "GYAN BADAYE NASHA BAGAAYE " at Rehearsal Hall, Durga Bhawan , Janipur Jammu on today under the overall direction of Dr. M.L. Dogra. A pledge was also taken by more than 100 people which was administered by Chahat Chadha. The Musical play is written, produced and directed by Dr. M.L. Dogra, former Regional Director, Song and Drama Division Ministry of Information and Broadcasting , Government of India. The Program was inaugurated by the chief guest V.K. Magotra, former Regional Director, Directorate of Field Publicity, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India. Among the guest of honors, Dr. Anju Kumari Dogra, Govt. Health Department Jammu Dr.Tara Singh Charak, Former Deputy Director , Health Department J&K Government, Romesh Chander, Advisor, Shavshat Art Gallery & Mukesh Singh Senior Media Person graced the function. The day prog was organized with sole aim of rejuvenating the traditional, Primitive Folk, Art, Culture of J&K Region. The Specially items prepared on the theme " Chutki Badi Karab ", " Koi akhe Ram koi alha", "Nasha Nai Kario Munde Kureio", "Swatch Bharat Ho ", "Mere Hikdu Gadbad", "Savdhan Savdhan ae Bhaart vasi Savdhan", Kashmiri Song, Nukkad, Skits, Songs were presented. The Chief Guest said Education for drug abuse prevention should be seen to include both formal and informal health curricula, the creation of a safe and healthy school environment, the provision of appropriate health services and support as well as the involvement of the family and the community in the planning and delivery of programmes. The risk of Addictions lurks for everyone. Adolescents and young adults are more likely to getting addicted to substances Type of Drug used drugs like cocaine and heroine have severely painful withdrawal symptoms and so are much more addictive than alcohol Method of use Drugs that are smoked or injected into your body tend to be more addictive as they directly go to the bloodstream and brain than those that you swallow where passing through liver can lead to some filtration Mental Illness. A person who is mentally ill is more prone to addictions and a person who is addicted are more likely to develop a mental illness or experience worsening of already existing symptoms. The efforts of the organizers in making such awareness programmes effective & result oriented should be appreciated. Theme based songs written by Dr.M.L.Dogra, were also recorded & uploaded online on Social Media for benefit of the peoples. In welcome speech by Dr. M.L. Dogra, Chairman, Bhartiya Lok Sangeet Kala Sansthan said it is possible, and desirable, for schools to be concerned with drug demand reduction, drug supply reduction and mitigating the health and social consequences of drug use, with the major focus on demand reduction. However, education authorities should not accept sole responsibility for changing student health behaviours, including reducing drug use. Ngo's may well be able to influence drug use behaviour and it is hoped that they will do so. However, it is the primary role of the Organisation to teach skills, to impart knowledge and to establish a sound values base in relation to health and drug use, not to change behaviours that may be determined by factors beyond the influence of the school. Voting awareness to help people understand the importance of Indian vibrant Democracy was an other important key of our awareness programme . Youth were mobilized to cast their vote for a free fair Election . Rajni Gupta , Troupe Incharge BLSKS said education for drug abuse prevention in schools/institutions/Ngos may be defined as the educational programmes, policies, procedures and other experiences that contribute to the achievement of broader health goals of preventing drug use and abuse. Our volunteers and outreach workers of these organizations have gone from door to door, and nearby localities of Jammu city to educate the people about the ill effects of drug abuse and their faith to strengthen to Indian Democracy . The singers, musician and actors who performed were Raju Bajgal, K K Joshi, Chahat Chadha, Bindia Okheda , Naiya Digra , Renu Bala, Rajeev Salotra.
