Early Times Report JAMMU, Sept 12: The NSS unit of Government College of Engineering & Technology (GCET), Jammu, in collaboration with the college's Electoral Literacy Club, held a series of events under the Systematic Voters Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) program. These initiatives were aimed at educating and encouraging voter participation in anticipation of the upcoming assembly elections. The events were conducted under the patronage of the college's Principal, Prof. (Dr) Sameru Sharma, who highlighted the importance of SVEEP as a flagship program of the Election Commission of India. She explained that the initiative focuses on enhancing voter education and literacy, ensuring that citizens can make informed choices during elections. The program commenced with an awareness campaign directed toward first-time voters, themed "Nothing like voting, I vote for sure and Nation first voting must." Enthusiastic first-time voters shared their thoughts and aspirations about casting their ballots. A signature campaign, titled "My vote my right," followed, where students pledged to vote by signing a campaign board.
