Reel Making Competition on "Loktantra ka Mahaparv" held at GCW, Bhagwati Nagar | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Sept 12: On September 12, 2024, the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Government College for Women, Bhagwati Nagar, organized an innovative Reel Making Competition themed "Loktantra ka Mahaparv." Led by Principal Dr. Meeru Abrol, the event focused on raising awareness about the electoral process and the critical role of voting in a democracy. The initiative was part of a voter awareness campaign aimed at encouraging young people to participate actively in elections and understand their responsibility in shaping the nation's governance. The competition saw 15 enthusiastic participants, who created reels showcasing the importance of voting and responsible participation in the democratic process. The students highlighted various aspects of voting behavior and demonstrated how fair and informed elections can be conducted. Principal Dr. Meeru Abrol praised the creativity and dedication of the students, emphasizing the significance of youth involvement in the electoral process to elect leaders who prioritize the public's welfare. She reiterated that active participation from young voters strengthens the democratic system. The competition was judged by a panel of experts, including Prof. Gagan Jyoti, Dr. Pawan Bali, and Dr. Mosmi Raina. Mahima Thakur from B.A. 3rd Semester won first place, followed by Palak Rajwal (B.A. 3rd Semester) and Ms. Amandeep Kour (B.A. 5th Semester), securing second and third positions respectively. The event underscored the power of youth in shaping the democratic future of the nation. |
