| Court rejects bail application of accused involved in NDPS Act | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Mar 24- Principal Sessions Judge Jammu SS Sarangal today rejected the bail application of one Zahoor Ahmed Koka son of Ghulam Mohammed Koka of Malahore Tehsil and District Shopian, who was involved in a NDPS Act. The Principal Sessions Judge Jammu, after hearing Advocate A Hamid Dar for the petitioner accused and Public Prosecutor EA Tak for the state, observed that prosecution has to educe its evidence and in this way the proceedings are at the threshold and under these circumstances the petitioner accused cannot claim concession of bail at this stage. Further more the order dated October 20, 2008 passed by this Court reveals that earlier an application on behalf of the petitioner accused for interim bail has already been rejected and yet no substantial change has occurred in the case as such the accused does not deserve bail at this stage and dismissed the bail application. According to the prosecution case on November 24, 2007 a police part intercepted a Tata-Sumo Vehicle with the accused on its wheel at Jewel Chowk Jammu and recovered 4.30 KG of charas from his possession. Accused was taken into custody and booked u/s 20 NDPS Act. |
