JAMMU, Sept 13: In a remarkable initiative aimed at promoting environmental sustainability and civic responsibility, the SVEEP (Systematic Voters' Education and Electoral Participation) Cell and the Electoral Literacy Club of GGM Science College, Jammu, conducted a plantation drive today. The event commenced with an opening address by Prof. (Dr.) Romesh Kumar Gupta, Principal of GGM Science College, who emphasized the importance of collective action in addressing environmental challenges. "Today's initiative is not just about planting trees; it's about planting the seeds of awareness and responsibility," stated the Principal. "By engaging in this activity, we are demonstrating our commitment to both our environment and our community."The plantation drive, held on the college campus, saw enthusiastic participation from students and faculty members.
The plantation drive was organized as part of a broader effort to foster awareness about environmental conservation and its crucial role in maintaining ecological balance. The SVEEP Cell and Electoral Literacy Club, known for their commitment to enhancing electoral literacy and democratic engagement, recognized the significance of integrating environmental stewardship into their mission.
The faculty members who present in the event were Dr. Narinder Kumar, Dr. Rahul Kait, Prof. Bal Krishan, Dr. Sheetu Raina, Prof. Arti Sharma, Prof. Amit Kumar, Dr. Chaman Lal Convener (SVEEP), Prof. Brinder Kumar Convener (ELC), Dr. Suresh Sharma, Prof. Vishal Sharma including all committee members.
