| 2 narcotics smugglers arrested; poppy straw recovered by police | | |  Early Times Report
SAMBA, Sept 13: Continuing its drive against the narcotics smugglers, Police has arrested two narcotics smugglers and has recovered Poppy Straw from their possession in the jurisdiction of Police Station Samba.
A Police Party of Police Post Mansar headed by I/C PP Mansar under SHO PS Samba during vehicle checking at Naka Mansar, intercepted a canter truck bearing registration No. PB13BG-4859 for its checking.
During checking, Poppy Straw having value of approximately 55000 INR was recovered which was tactfully concealed inside the cabin of the canter truck. The accused has been identified as Bachiter Singh son of Bir Singh and Ajay Pal son of Narinder Singh both resident of Amritsar (Punjab) have been arrested and the contraband item alongwith vehicle was also seized.
In this regard, a case FIR No. 240/2024 U/S 8/15 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Samba and further investigation started. |
