JMC Commissioner conducts extensive tour of Jammu South

JAMMU, Sept 13: Commissioner, Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) today conducted an extensive tour of the wards in Jammu South to take stock of illegal construction and development of unauthorised colonies by private persons and sub-division of big plots into small ones with in municipal jurisdiction.
Elucidating the importance of real-time reporting in the matter, the Commissioner said that It would go a long way in thwart the illegal constructions and development of unauthorised colonies in the municipal areas.
Directing the enforcement staff for keeping strict vigil with regards to construction without approved building plans and development of unauthorised colonies, Dr Devansh said that real-time reporting plays a pivotal role in municipal operations.
The tour, aimed at addressing local concerns, showcased the Commissioner's commitment to improving urban infrastructure and community engagement. He also got first -hand appraisal about health and sanitation activities being carried out in these wards.
During the tour, the hands-on approach of the Commissioner underscored the necessity for timely updates and transparency in municipal activities, which he believes are crucial for effective governance and public trust.
The Commissioner said that such types of inspection would also be conducted in other wards of the Municipal limit, saying that such inspections would provide a platform for residents to voice their concerns and suggestions regarding local development, further strengthening the relationship between the JMC and the community.
