| Parliament elections in Maharashtra | | Randhir welcomes seat sharing arrangements between CONG, NCP | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Mar 24: Thakur Randhir Singh working committee member and NCP chief Jammu and Kashmir has welcomed seat sharing arrangement between Congress and NCP in the ensuing parliamentary elections in Maharashtra. Thakur in a statement said that NCP under the leadership of Sharad Pawar has always played a important role in uniting the secular forces in the country and added that the present national govt. headed by Dr. Manmohan Singh and the present coalition govt. between NCP and Congress in Maharashtra is all due to Pawar who was responsible for halting the march of saffron future, a true Gandhian and the messiah of the farmers. He said NCP ministers in the present coalition Govt. led by Pawar as Union Agriculture Minister has bought revolution in the field of Agriculture, Food, civil aviation and rural development which are headed by the NCP ministers Praful Patel and Suryakant Patil respectively. Commenting on the role of NCP in the coming parliamentary elections in the Jammu and Kashmir Singh said NCP will strengthen the secular, democratic forces in the state. He said it is unfortunate that the Jammu and Kashmir is still one of the most corrupt state and the recent report of Comptroller and Auditor general shocked everybody and expected from the new govt. to learn a lesson and punish the defaulters who have misused and not spent the funds granted by the central Govt. under various centrally sponsored schemes to alleviate poverty and unemployment. |
