Moot court competition held at Delhi Public School Jammu

Jammu, Sept 13: Delhi Public School Jammu today hosted a Moot Court Competition for the students of Classes IX to XII, showcasing their knowledge of the judicial system through the presentation of civil and criminal cases. The event aimed to instill legal awareness and advocacy skills among young learners while shedding light on critical social issues.
Adding to the spirit of the event, the students also performed a skit to spread awareness about Justice for Women suffering from domestic violence. This was followed by a documentary, emphasizing the importance of legal support for victims of such injustices.
The competition witnessed the gracious presence of Justice Subhash Gupta, District Sessions Judge (Retd.), and Sh. Jasbeer Singh Jasrotia, Senior Advocate of the High Court of Jammu, Kashmir, and Ladakh, as the esteemed members of the jury. Both dignitaries not only evaluated the participants' performances but also engaged in an insightful interaction with the students, sharing their experiences and legal expertise. The confidence and presentation skills of students were highly appreciated by both the judges.
Following the competition, participation and merit awards were presented to the budding legal minds by the honourable jury members. Their encouragement and guidance left a lasting impact on the students, further inspiring them to pursue careers in law and social justice.
The Merit Award was given to:
Momin Adnan (Event Head) and Surveen Kour (Event Head). Special recognition was given to Pratham Thapa, Himanshu Sumbriya, Alok Gupta, Manya Targotra and Manaswin Mahajan for their outstanding contribution. Special Thanks was given to Teacher-in-Charge Mr. Deepak Sharma and S.ST Department.
The names of the winners of Appreciation Award are:
Charvi Gupta (Best Lawyer), Zeeshaan Bhat (Best Plaintiff/Accused) and Adaa Mahajan (Best Witness).
Principal, DPS Jammu Ms Ruchi Chabra expressed heartfelt gratitude to the distinguished jury for their valuable presence and contribution to the event. She also congratulated Mr Deepak and the other members of the Social Science faculty for organizing the event flawlessly. The Vice Principal, Ms. Meenu Gupta encouraged students to keep up their momentum and continue to aspire for their dreams. The result was declared by Headmaster, Mr. Ravi Kumar Kotroo, while the vote of thanks was delivered by Mr. Umesh Kumar Sharma, Deputy Headmaster. The event ended with the National Anthem followed by the group photograph.
The esteemed management of DPS Jammu, Hon’ble President-RCT, Sh. M.K. Ajatshatru Singh Ji, distinguished PVC-Kuwarani Dr. Ritu Singh Ji, Hon’ble Director-S.S. Sodhi Ji congratulated the students for organizing the event and extended their best wishes to the students and staff.
