| NC, Congress leaders to start campaigning jointly. | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu : As the parliamentary polls were set in motion in the state on Monday after the issuance of first poll notification, the ruling coalition has issued orders to all the legislators and leaders to start campaigning for the Lok Sabha candidates.
Reports reaching Press Bureau of India said that the Congress-NC coalition is not in a mood to suffer any loses and as a result both the partners have issued instructions to its leaders to work in close co-ordination and ensure victory for the parliamentary candidates.
Interestingly, the ruling alliance has decided to contest three of the Lok Sabha seats each in the state and has declared candidates for the Jammu and Udhampur parliamentary seats. Congress has named sitting MPs Lal Singh and Madan Lal Sharma from Jammu and Udhampur respectively.
Sources told Press Bureau of India that the coalition partners want to take BJP head on and wrestle all the three seats that are at stake in Jammu division. Importantly, the Amarnath agitation wave gave a clear edge to the BJP helping to lay their hands on 11 assemble seats during the recently concluded assembly polls.
In Ladakh and Kashmir divisions the ruling coalition is closely tied up with the PDP for at least two seats. While as Ladakh division is considered a safe battle field, it is Baramulla and Islamabad where the coalition partners are being trying to make in roads and ensure victory for the coalition candidates. |
