Early Times Report

Shopian, Sept 15: Dr. Syed Darakhshan Andrabi, BJP National Executive Member and Chairperson of the J&K Waqf Board, led a roadshow in support of BJP candidate Javed Qureshi in Shopian. Joined by young party leader Irfan Mahas, the campaign saw enthusiastic participation as it passed through various localities in the town.
During stopover rallies, BJP leaders addressed the public, with candidate Javed Qureshi pledging to work diligently towards fulfilling the developmental aspirations of Shopian’s residents.
Speaking at the Ghanta Ghar Chowk, Dr. Andrabi criticized the decades-long dominance of J&K’s political dynasties, accusing them of corruption, rigging elections, and exploiting separatism for personal gain.
“Three families ruled J&K like their private business enterprise, responsible for the bloodshed that consumed a generation of youth,” said Dr. Andrabi. She commended the youth of the valley for choosing peace, prosperity, and development, rejecting the “old-fashioned family politics of exploitation.”
Dr. Andrabi highlighted that under BJP governance, peace and democracy have returned to regions where elections were previously impossible.
“Shopian will stand with BJP in these elections, as people now want young faces representing peace and development,” she remarked, emphasizing the party’s growing support across Jammu and Kashmir.
