Tapeball cricket series held at Kapurthala, Punjab

KAPURTHALA, Sept 16: In a bid to promote and continue the mission and commitment to sports, a Tapeball cricket series featuring four teams was organized by the Tapeball Cricket Association of Punjab under the aegis of the Tapeball Cricket Council of India. The event took place in Kapurthala, Punjab.
The series saw the enthusiastic participation of several notable sports promoters and players. Rajiv Walia, a prominent sports promoter, was present alongside his team members Jaspal Singh Panesor, Anay Anand, Sanjay Sharma, K S Nagra, Lalit Kumar, Chahin Arora, Vikas Puri, Pratap Puri, and Harman Singh Kang. The team from Jammu, led by Sunny Nanda and including Ashok Singh, also took part in the event.
The tournament was declared open by Ashok Singh Jamwal, invited as the chief guest in the prestigious series.
The matches showcased exceptional skills and talents of all the players. The highlight of the series was the match between Kapurthala Urban State Sports Club and Kapurthala Cricket Academy. Batting first, Urban Sports Club set a target of 37 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in an 8-over match. In reply, Kapurthala Cricket Academy achieved the target effortlessly in just the second over, thanks to a stellar performance by Jatin, who scored 36 runs off seven balls, including six sixes.
The public enjoyed the event thoroughly, expressing their excitement and calling for more such matches to be organized across Punjab to showcase local talent. Varinder Singh Dahiya, General Secretary of the Tapeball Cricket Council of India, assured the audience that more series would be planned in the coming days to meet this demand.
